A Smart City is always a Safe City Emergency Call Station for Street Lights Overview A Schneider Intercom solution This solution consists of an impact-resistant mast housing that accommodates a 10-watt loudspeaker, a microphone and an intercom module and LTE antenna. The intercom station is independent of the surrounding infrastructure and can be placed almost anywhere in the city or municipality, depending on its use as an emergency call or information station - a suitable power supply is all that is needed. Direct connection at the push of a button The station provides acoustic and visual feedback to indicate its operating state and required user interaction. Pressing the button automatically establishes a connection to the designated point of help. From there staff can also call back to provide additional information and instructions to callers. The Intercom station also comes equipped with features to make misuse difficult. The many possible uses range from emergency call stations for parks and public places to information stations in public transport, at entrances suitable for the disabled and at information points. They can even be set up at short notice for special occasions or events. The emergency call or info intercom stations monitor themselves and report errors (via SNMP) to any location. An LTE data card with a maximum data volume of 300 MB per month is additionally required for operation. When they are forced open, the network port and therefore access to the internal network and door/barrier opener contacts are exposed, making it vulnerable to manipulation. Solutions by Commend provide reliable protection against this scenario. Maximum Protection for IP Network and Door Opener Mounted safely indoors, the Commend IP Secure Connector ensures a fully secured installation. Any unauthorised attempt to open the Intercom station – e.g., to access the Ethernet cable or door opener contacts inside – will cause the IP Secure Connector to cut the Intercom and LAN connections . This way, manipulation attempts can be prevented while ensuring full protection for the network and door opener. Additional Tamper and attacker identification – any attempt to open an Intercom station will be detected and set off an alarm.
