The New Symphony Control Desk: A Leap Towards Modernisation and Cyber Security
Our "Evergreen Technology" approach ensures that classic products remain compatible with the latest innovations, future-proofing your investment. Therefore, it is now possible to receive call requests from classic intercom stations, including IP, digital, or even analog devices at your Symphony control desk. But why should you consider upgrading to the new Symphony Control Desk in the first place? The answer is simple: it enables your operators to handle calls more efficiently. Our Symphony control desks bring a significant upgrade in functionality, offering enhanced user-friendliness for control center staff. Previously, we introduced several features that streamline operations, which you can read about here: New Symphony Control Desk - Intuitive, Efficient, and Cyber Secure . Among its many capabilities is the ability to manage varying call requests through 10 programmable call queues , allowing operators to swiftly address crises with device-based queue subscriptions. It allows you to define five call priorities , which help differentiate between e.g. life-threatening situations, informational inquiries, and technical issues, ensuring urgent calls are prioritized appropriately. Additionally, the Symphony Control Desk allows rapid call forwarding to another queue when multiple calls arrive at the same time, improving response efficiency. If a higher-priority call comes in while an operator is busy, they can park the current call in the queue for a colleague to handle or retrieve it later. Integrating Symphony’s call management system with a traditional control desk offers a powerful combination of modern and legacy features, boosting operational efficiency. An additional feature is that operators can now connect to multiple call queues simultaneously . For example, a parking lot operator managing garages in different cities—such as Salzburg, Vienna, and Graz—no longer needs to manually select which location’s calls to receive. Instead, they can connect to one, two, or all three queues at the same time, greatly improving response times and call management efficiency. So what does it mean for you? Being able to receive calls from classic intercom stations at your Symphony Control Desk ensures that control rooms can access Symphony’s user-friendly functions without needing to replace every intercom station in the system. WKO Secretary General Visits Commend International
As part of his inaugural visit to Salzburg yesterday, the new Secretary General of the Wirtschaftskammer Österreich ( Austrian Federal Economic Chamber ), Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, visited Commend International together with Gerd Raspotnig, Deputy Director of the Wirtschaftskammer Salzburg (Salzburg Economic Chamber). After a short introduction to our company and a live demonstration of our latest solutions – made possible with the support of the FFG Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH (Austrian Research Promotion Agency) — they toured our production facilities and research audio laboratory . Noisy environments make communication challenging, but our advanced systems ensure clear conversations . We continuously refine our systems to provide the highest speech quality, even in extreme conditions. The Speech Transmission Index (STI) measures intelligibility, with 1.00 being perfect face-to-face communication. Commend achieves up to 0.96 STI, making it ideal for industries where communication is critical. Here‘s an example: Garbage trucks need to register when they come to waste processing plants. The environment is loud and the trucks themselves generate additional noise. Poor audio leads to long queues and disrupted traffic and to frustration for security operations center (SOC) operators who handle up to 100 calls a day.
