In order to verify their absolute reliability for use in Ex zones with hazardous gases or dusts, the Intercom stations are both ATEX-, CCC- and IECEx-certified. Based on a rugged, corrosion-resistant and lightweight “Ex e” polycarbonate housing, the Series EX 7000D enables simple and rapid installation, eliminates expensive routine servicing and drastically reduces maintenance costs. Additionally, the IP66 certification (acc. to EN/IEC 60079-0) and a wide permissible temperature range make the Intercom stations the perfect choice for a wide range of applications in explosive environments. Thanks to the dust- and water-insensitive microphones and the 16 kHz eHD Voice audio quality, the Series EX 7000D comes with highest speech intelligibility. Even in very noisy environments, two powerful amplifiers for the optional built-in loudspeaker and a connectable PA loudspeaker ensure a crystal clear sound. The design of the GEC 480 counter Intercom system allows clear and natural speech between acoustically separated locations, e.g. ticket counters, ski-lift stations or isolation wards in hospitals. The built-in speech processor allows high-quality hands-free, full duplex communication. The counter Intercom also adapts to different levels of background noise thanks to four different operating modes and individual volume adjustment for the client and the operator station. Optionally, a proximity sensor or a call button can be added on the customer side to activate the system. No microphone and no power supply is included in the scope of delivery.

The design of the modules has been chosen to perfectly match the flush-mounted Concerto touchscreen stations. Special materials of the dummy module ensure an ideal transmission of electromagnetic signals of an RFID reader.
